Resilience: re·sil·ience

noun

1. the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties; toughness.

2.the ability of a substance or object to spring back into shape; elasticity.

Neuro-Resilience is our brain’s ability to not only weather the storms of life, but also to grow, change and constantly improve.

What is Neuro-resilience?

"Resilience is the process of [the brain] adapting well in the face of adversity, trauma, tragedy, threats or significant sources of stress — such as family and relationship problems, serious health problems or workplace and financial stressors. It means "bouncing back" from difficult experiences" (American Psychological Association). In other words, it's our ability to not only weather the storms of life, but also to grow, change and constantly improve. The key is knowing that this process can be learned and developed through gaining insight (psychotherapy), lifestyle changes (behavioral modification) and biological interventions (if indicated).
